How to Carry Violations over from Retired Occupant to New Occupant?

Violations do not get transferred from one occupant to the next during occupant turnover.

 

Let say you go to do your reinspection for ABC Company and come to find that that occupant has gone out of business and it is XYZ Corp. In this situation you should do the following:

1. Open the reinspection for ABC Company.
2. Mark the violations as clear and add a comment that says something along the lines of 'Violation is being marked cleared because the occupant no longer exists.
3. Close out of the reinspection.
4. You should then retire and replace the occupant.
5. Start a new inspection on the new occupant.
